Happy Monday! When I saw this wonderful quote by the one and only Diana Vreeland, I had to share it. My love for red continues. A small or big touch of red gives a room a little more energy.

The pumpkins are plentiful, the air is cool, and the leaves are changing colors. This time of year is perfect for entertaining. Celebrate harvest and set the table with an affordable centerpiece made from nature’s bounty.

“A house in the country is the work of a lifetime. You see the evolution of your own life, in a way.” Oscar de la Renta
This is exactly how I’m feeling these days. Moving shakes things up. For me, it is a celebration of old and new things. We continue to discover pictures that have been stored, and unwrapping them to find images that hold memories of our lives (some forgotten), connecting with friends we have missed, and rediscovering old and new favorite places to eat. Autumn is a beautiful time to live in the country.

We are home and working hard to open all the moving boxes. Currently, I’m busy sorting books for the study. It’s nice to have built-ins for all my designer books. I think they’ll be very happy in this space. For now, the first thing on the shelf is a small TV for the guys.

What’s on your to do list this week?
The iconic designer Bunny Williams has launched a collection with Ballard Designs. Read more here. The collection includes a selection of tabletop, entertaining and holiday pieces, which is perfect for everyday entertaining. She selected favorite pieces from her own collection to create classic dinnerware that you can mix and match and layer with different pieces. If you are crazy for tabletop or looking to start a collection, hurry! Take advantage of Ballard’s exclusive pre-sale. My order is in, is yours? Now that we are living in a bigger space, I’m looking forward to entertaining.

Hello, again. I’m back from my summer break. It has been a busy two weeks. I took a trip to Connecticut and visited Southbury. We stayed at the Heritage Hotel and Conference Center where we stayed many times when the kids were young. It’s close to shopping and antiquing. I love that it has an indoor and outdoor pool, a great indoor racket ball, a ping pong table to enjoy, which makes it perfect for winter family time, too. We also visited Freeport, Maine for some back to school shopping. If you visit Freeport stop by Harraseeket for lunch. It’s 10 minutes from the outlets down local roads. You’ll love the beautiful historic homes with pretty gardens on the way to the Freeport pier.

Our stay was short and we headed home to pack up my son’s things for his junior year at Babson College. Between packing I took my daughter and her friends to the One Direction Concert in Philly. It was a blast, literally. There were fireworks, lasers, confetti and lots of girls screaming. I enjoyed every minute of it, to my surprise (except the screaming). Then we were off the next day to drop-off my son at college. Except we made a stop in Warwick, NY to look at a house my husband liked.
Guess, what? We are moving to Warwick, NY. Yes, it happened very quickly. I love Warwick, NY. Although the timing is a little off, I’m going to embrace it and go with the flow. It will be country living at the best time of the year, Autumn: apple picking, country landscape, cider donuts, farm animals.

Don’t worry, I will be spending time in Princeton, NJ, too. It is important to me to continue nurturing my friendships and servicing my design clients. While I get things ready for our move, let’s stay in touch on Instagram & Twitter: @idhomedecor and FaceBook: Ivy de Leon Designs

Hard to believe today is August 1st. This week I noticed day light ended at approximately 8:30 pm, the tomatoes and avocados are plentiful, and beautiful zinnia flowers are easily accessible, all indicating summer is in full swing. Here are five weekend summer time favorites.
JCrew: Endless Shirt, Tory Burch: McKenzie Espadrille , PopSugar: Mint/cucumber water (beauty from the inside out), Beautiful Dreams: Panama Hat, Weekend glam in red lips and nail polish (via Pinterest).

Thanks for stopping by. Enjoy your weekend.
