Transition From Winter to Spring

It’s Ash Wednesday today.  Easter and spring will soon arrive.  How do I transition from winter to spring?  I add more color.  These week I like coral.  It comes in many shades. Coral is a color I find soothing and mixes well with just about every color.  It’s not overpowering.

In small amounts, the color coral is refreshing in fashion and home decorating. A little accent color to a men’s blazer can make all the difference.  For entertaining, an aqua and coral palette is a winning combination in this lovely tablescape by Ken Gemes for the porch of the 2013 Hampton Designer Showhouse. Ashley Whittaker designs have traditional elements with a punch of colorful. I adore everything she does.  Sometimes older homes with low ceilings feel dark.  That certainly is not the case here with a coral living room that opens to a yellow room.  The back wall of  bookshelves get a welcoming update with paint.  After a long winter,  I think many of us in the northeast will be looking to add color to our homes.
