Get Organized With Homezada

Recently, I met with a client who wanted a room redesign.  She was overwhelmed thinking about the floor plan, room molding, window treatments, furniture, paint colors, etc.  She wanted to do it herself, but needed guidance.  She was a lovely women and I felt we were a good fit to complete the project.  We were in contact via email for the most part.  I made a visit to her home to see her progress and to select a paint color for the living room.  Three months later, the project was complete.  She was happy with the results and gave me a lovely testimonial.

“Ivy is creative and insightful. She listened to my needs, made suggestions for using and rearranging items I already owned, and helped me locate items I needed to purchase. Her sense of color and mood is suburb, and she is not at all pushy to work with. She was mindful of my budget, and had follow-through and follow-up that showed a true caring of the project. I recommend her highly. ” —  Susan – Princeton, NJ

Spring Inspiration

Thank god it’s Friday.  It has been a tough week.  I’ve been feeling under the weather.  After a few days of rest,  I needed to get out of the house.  I took a trip to HomeGoods to get a little spring inspiration.  The store was busy with shoppers.  I took my time to scope things out.  There were many amazing designer quality items. It was hard to leave them behind.  I spotted these great John Robshaw pillows for a fraction of the original cost.  I think they would look great for a spring project I’m working on.  I like the whimsical flowering tree patterns on the linen green pillow.  The large pillow compliments it nicely.

I’m looking forward to the snow melting and the arrival of spring.  Do you have any projects this spring?  Where do go to find spring inspiration?

Craving A Getaway

January is the toughest month for me to get through.  This month has been too cold.    I’m ready for a little getaway.  I’m thinking something familiar and easy to reach…Palm Beach.

Charles P. Rogers: The Heart Truth

February is just around the corner.  Did you know that February is American Heart Month?  In our busy life, we sometimes forget to take care of our health.  Heart health education and research is so important to all of us as women.    Heart disease is the No.1 killer of American women.   Today, I’m dedicating this post to heart health education and research and how we can help raise awareness.

Beginning February 1, the Charles P. Rogers Red Bed Campaign (#redbed) launches to help raise funds and awareness for this cause.  Charles P. Rogers is a great brand and is once again partnering with The Heart Truth® to join the fight against heart disease.  You know how much I love red.  A red bed would be a great focus in a bedroom.  If you want to

red

get involved  here’s how to get started.  On February 1 and running until February 10, supporters can visit http://www.charlesprogers.com/heartawareness to bid on one of two custom made red Leighton beds.    The winners will be announced on Valentine’s Day and once again 100% of the proceeds raised will go to benefit women’s heart health education and research.    Don’t forget to schedule your annual physical.  I like to schedule my doctor’s visit around Feb 14, Valentine’s Day.  It’s my reminder to take care of my heart in order to be around for my family.

Ceiling Details: Vanish the White

When it comes to painting and decorating, the ceiling is often forgotten.  Painting  the  ceiling white is the norm.  Sometimes we have to take a leap of faith and get out of our comfort zone.   Raise the bar on the ceiling details to elevate your design.

Cravings: Fabric love

With some many fabrics to choose from it might get overwhelming to select the right one for you.  As a decorator,  I help you in your selection and inform you which type of fabric works for your project.  We narrow down the choices to select the perfect fabric for your drapes, sofa and ottoman.  Not only will your furniture look great, but  the upholstery will wear well and feel great in your design.  We review and present the correct color wave to coordinate with your other pieces, saving you time and money.

These are a few fabrics that caught my eye this week that I’m craving and loving.

Back to Normal

The long winter break for my sons ended.  They returned to college on Monday.  I really enjoyed my time with them.   Hard to believe I have a senior in college.  It feels  like just yesterday, I was putting him on the bus for first grade.  Now that we are back to our normal schedule, things will be quiet around the house.  During the next few days I want to start a few projects and reorganize a few areas in the kitchen.   I found some inspiration images to keep me motivated and focused.  Are you in the organizing mode?
