Over the weekend I took a ride to my previous hometown, Warwick, NY. It’s a beautiful small town about 1 1/2 hours from New York City. I’ve had a love affair with the Town of Warwick for over 18 years. I raised my three children there. We moved from Warwick for sunny days in Tampa a few years back, then moved to Princeton, NJ, where we currently reside. On Sunday, we went back to our hometown and toured a beautiful property, which got me dreaming of country living, again.
I’m not moving; but I love pinning images of how I would put my touch to the house I toured. This is my idea of country living now that my children are older. I like painting everything all white and see how things develop while living in the house. This allows me to see how I live in the space and how light moves throughout the house.
Green is my first choice for a study.
I love red, too.
I’m head over heals for yellow somewhere in my country house.
I’m thinking of Monticello – Thomas Jefferson’s Home re-painted by Ralph Lauren English Interiors Paint called Monticello Yellow.
My country kitchen would incorporate some of these classic elements: a French stove, white subway tiles and wood floors.
