Coastal Mantel Holiday Decor

Make your mantel festive with some coastal inspiration.  Beautiful stockings with beach theme designs. Bring the outside in with this color scheme… sand, ocean and blue skies.

Many people stress about decorating for the holidays.  When decorating a room my philosophy is to keep it simple.  A miniature evergreen tree and strings of miniature apples complete this mantel.

ivydeleon.comA quick DIY project in the dining room.  A  porcelain ice bucket I picked up for $15 sometime ago at The Golden Nugget, I filled it with colorful tissue paper,  placed some gold sprayed twigs in the middle and layered the top with seashells.  The birds came from the Plant Museum at the University of Tampa — a gift from a good friend. They have a great gift shop with lots of beautiful home accessories.   The robin blue cloth is from a kilt kit I found at a Goodwill store, $2.   I smile when I walk past this room.  Use what you already have to create little vignettes.ivydeleon.com

Holiday greenery and 5 ornaments decorate my dining room mantel.   I agree with Tobi Fairley, her mantra for the holidays is “DON’T UNDECORATE TO DECORATE!”
