With 15 years of the best modern homes, Dwell Magazine is bringing Dwell on Design to New York for a 3-day celebration of design starting Oct. 2 thru Oct. 4. Dwell on Design NY takes place at Skylight Clarkson Sq. located in the heart of SoHo. The 3-day event will feature world-class speakers, product demonstrations, continuing education classes for architects and design professionals, and seminars for design-seeking consumers. With over 3,800 design enthusiasts attending last year, this is one event you don’t want to miss. For those of you thinking, I’m just traditional, nothing could be further from the truth. Yes, I enjoy modern design also. As a decorator, it’s important to keep learning about all things design.
You know I love a good home tour. Dwell on Design will deliver some of Manhattan’s amazing contemporary homes – from a Tribeca loft rediscovered for a modern family, to a beautiful West Village oasis. Five Dwell Home Tours will take place on Saturday, October 3.

You’ll also meet award-winning architects and designers on each tour, including Low-Line designer James Ramsey, Matthew Bremer, and Cezign. Sometimes all you need is a little change like replacing an outdated lighting fixture to give a room a fresh look. Most rooms need layered lighting for a well-lit room.
