Holiday House NYC

Mark your calendars and visit the  Holiday House, a holiday-themed Designer Showhouse, in a historic 20,000+ square foot mansion presented by Traditional Home.  The Holiday House is located at 2 East 63rd Street in New York City.  It is open to the public from October 25 – November 18, 2012.

This year, the Holiday House benefits The Breast Cancer Research Foundation, founded by Evelyn Lauder in 1993.  Many women and families have been touched by breast cancer, my family included.  Let’s celebrate life and  support the foundation to help accelerate new discoveries and advances to fight breast cancer.  The foundation is a pioneer in dramatically improving diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of breast cancer to help women globally.   I am honored to be part of the media attending the showhouse and to share the amazing designs of some of the best talent in the design industry.

Paula + Martha designed the grand entrance hall for the Lauder Tribute Gallery. The portrait of Mrs. Lauder  shows her signature style of refinement and elegance.  Lauder’s  photographs from her collection of antique “lady head” vases, “The Beauties,”  and colorful flowers are also displayed in the salon-style vignette.

I’m always excited to see Tobi Fairley’s next design.  The theme of Tobi’s room is “Spring Forward”  with  a “fashion forward” reference.  The sitting room is designed in black and white with touches of  pink.   Upon entering the room, it feels like light and airy:  fresh, crisp and beautiful down to every detail.
